Safety at North
We want to thank the entire North community for looking out for each other and ensuring that everyone is safe with the two threats that were made on social media. We currently believe that it is safe for students to attend North and we will continue to work with safety to keep students safe while at North as this is our number one priority.
You should have received communication through school messenger regarding this situation. If you did not, email graciela_guevara@dpsk12.net and she will check your settings.
In addition, we are able to communicate the fastest in emergency situations through Remind and we encourage you to subscribe.

We are working on coordinating a family debrief time regarding the threats that were made to take place via zoom as well and will be in touch with those details.
Friday, September 10 - Teacher Support 2:45pm
Tomorrow students have the opportunity to connect with teachers from 2:45pm - 3:30pm for teacher support. In addition, we will be providing space for students to process the last couple of days if they are looking for that space. If a student does not need that space and does not need teacher support, students are able to leave campus as this is time for students to engage in the way that they need to.
Monday, September 13 - Early Dismissal at 2:45pm
All students in main campus programming who do not receive central transportation will be dismissed at 2:45pm so that our team can prepare for Back to School Night on Tuesday!
Period 8 - Wednesday, September 15
Students begin their Period 8 schedule on Wednesday, September 15. You will receive your student’s schedule on Monday so you know how they are spending their time. All students will be scheduled and only students scheduled into OFF SITE will be able to leave campus before 3:30pm.
CSC - Collaborative School Committee

Sept 24th to Oct 8th, October Count Window - Oct. 1, Student Count Day
October Count is both a day & a window. October Count Window is Friday September 24th- Friday October 8th. October Count Day is October 1st, and is the official student membership count for all Colorado public school districts mandated by the Colorado Department of Education. Mañana los estudiantes tienen la oportunidad de conectarse con los maestros de 2:45 pm a 3:30 pm para recibir apoyo de los maestros. Además, proporcionaremos espacio para que los estudiantes procesen los últimos días si están buscando ese espacio. Si un estudiante no necesita ese espacio y no necesita el apoyo de un maestro, los estudiantes pueden salir del campus, ya que este es el momento para que los estudiantes se involucren de la manera que necesitan.
Lunes 13 de septiembre - Salida Temprano a las 2:45 pm
¡Todos los estudiantes en la programación del campus principal que no reciban transporte central serán despedidos a las 2:45 pm para que nuestro equipo pueda prepararse para la Noche de Regreso a Clases el martes!

Octubre Count es tanto un día como una ventana. La ventana de conteo de octubre es del viernes 24 de septiembre al viernes 8 de octubre. El día del conteo de octubre es el 1 de octubre y es el conteo oficial de membresía estudiantil para todos los distritos escolares públicos de Colorado exigidos por el Departamento de Educación de Colorado. Por favor planifique con anticipación y asegúrese de que su estudiante llegue a tiempo y asista a todas sus clases durante este tiempo. Back to School Night

We are excited to offer a blended Back to School Night experience for our students and families at North! On the evening of Tuesday, September 14th, 2021, starting at 5:30 pm, North families and students will have the opportunity to engage in sessions both virtually and in person. Next week, virtual presentations will be emailed to families about North classes, schedules and all the planning related to the 2021-2022 school year. In addition, we will be providing opportunities to engage in person at North, to meet our staff and enjoy presentations from North students and other community organizations.

Noche de Regreso a La Escuela

¡Estamos emocionados de ofrecer una experiencia combinada de Regreso a Clases para nuestros estudiantes y familias en North! COVID-19 Update and Vaccines

Our amazing nursing team is diligently working to support all students related to health, specifically related to COVID-19 and we have THE BEST TEAM! We will notify any impacted by COVID-19 at North, so you can rest assured that you will be kept in the loop! If your student has any symptoms, please keep them at home and notify our attendance team.
Also, starting next week during Tuesdays and Thursdays the North clinic will have 18 COVID vaccines available each day. To make an appointment for students, families can call the clinic - 720.423-2718. Please encourage your student to receive their vaccine if they haven’t yet.
Nuestro increíble equipo de enfermería está trabajando diligentemente para apoyar a todos los estudiantes relacionados con la salud, específicamente relacionados con COVID-19, ¡y tenemos EL MEJOR EQUIPO! Mariachi Ensemble for Teens
The Colorado Youth Mariachi Program and the Latino Cultural Art Center are introducing a new wonderful music opportunity for teens in the Denver area. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, they are starting a community mariachi ensemble and looking for young musicians who would like to take part in this new adventure. The goal of Senate Bill 29 is to increase the number of Native American students who attend – and are successful – in college
A handful of states and colleges offer tuition waivers, in-state tuition or other grants and scholarships to increase access to higher education for Native American students. The rules vary, requiring such things as tribal membership or documentation of tribal descent. But the goal is the same: increase the number of Native American students who attend – and are successful – in college.

Una nueva ley de Colorado que otorga matrículas universitarias estatales a los nativos americanos ya está atrayendo a estudiantes
El objetivo del Proyecto de Ley del Senado 29 es aumentar el número de estudiantes nativos americanos que asisten a la universidad y tienen éxito en ella.
Un puñado de estados y universidades ofrecen exenciones de matrícula, matrícula estatal u otras subvenciones y becas para aumentar el acceso a la educación superior para los estudiantes nativos americanos. Las reglas varían, requiriendo cosas como membresía tribal o documentación de ascendencia tribal.
