Dear KIA 3^rd-5^th grade Parents, 尊敬的KIA 3-5年级的家长们：
KIA 3^rd-5^th grade students will take assessments called Measures of Academic Progress™ (MAP) September 13^th-17^th . MAP is a computerized assessment given to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the year. This format allows KIA to observe learning growth from fall to spring and from one year to the next. The assessments include the areas of English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science.
KIA 3-5 年级的学生将在9月13-17日参加学习进展评估测试 (MAP)。MAP实行机考，测试用以确定您孩子的受教水平及测量其全年的学业长进。这种考试模式让KIA可以观察到学生从秋季到春季、及这一年到下一年的学习进展。测试包括英语语言艺术、数学和科学。

MAP assessments are unique in that they adapt to your child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing. A benefit of MAP testing is that we can administer a shorter assessment, use less class time, and still receive detailed, accurate information about your child’s growth. Your child’s growth and achievement data will be available shortly after the testing period has ended.

Please make sure your child is present at school when his or her grade level is scheduled. Also, a good night’s rest and healthy breakfast is a great way to start a MAP day.
