Two year old funding eligibility
Further to the recent change in the two year old funding vouchers that are issued from BCP Council and the requirement that all parents applying for a place for their two year old child, regardless of whether they received the voucher or not, must confirm eligibility online, we would like to remind all providers that all online applications receive a code, so you should ensure that the code presented by a parent is valid.

You may ask parents to share with you content of the email they received after confirming eligibility online or use the BCP Council online eligibility checker back-office system.

The provider guide for the back-office checker is included in the link below (it is also on the Early Education Funding Forms for Practitioners section on our website).

Up to £2,000 available for COVID-19 impacted businesses

Dorset Gateway, Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership’s business growth hub, has launched a new support package for small and medium businesses in the BCP Council area. Funded through BCP Council's Bounce Back Challenge, the Back to Business initiative is free for businesses who’ve been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The service tailors support to the specific needs of each applicant. After an initial consultation to help leadership teams identify aspects of operation that have been impacted through the pandemic, Dorset Gateway’s advisors are on hand to signpost a wide range of support measures available. You’ll find more information in the link below.

The Children's Commissioner's The Big Ask and The Big Answer

Earlier this year, The Children’s Commissioner, Dame Rachel de Souza DBE, asked all children in England to complete a survey, to show the true voice of this generation. The results are in and The Children’s Commissioner would like to say thank you. Over half a million children responded, the largest survey of its kind in history, and at a landmark moment for young people growing up in this country.

Have you had your vaccine yet?

The vaccination programme has substantially reduced the risk from severe COVID-19 in the UK.

The latest national COVID-19 vaccine surveillance report, estimates the programme has prevented about 22 million infections and 60,000 deaths so far in England.

Vaccinated people are far less likely to get COVID-19 with symptoms and even more unlikely to become seriously ill, to be admitted to hospital, or to die from it.

If you live in England and are aged 16 or over, you can get a COVID-19 vaccine from a walk-in COVID-19 vaccination site without an appointment. Share this with your parents and carers and help them find their nearest vaccination site in the link below.
