L'Shana Tova Dear Family!
And Shabbat Shalom!
Newness. Fresh Start. Reset. We all love the idea of turning the page and starting anew. In Jewish thought, Rosh Hashanah provides a reset, a fresh start. Though we can do that any day of the year, this is a special time to hit the reset button in our personal walk with God.
New year, new website!
We decided to do a reset for our church website! Our goal is to ensure that our message is clear and succinct as to who we are as a church, what we believe, and what we stand for. We trust that the Holy Spirit will do the rest to draw people who are looking for a Gentile Christian church that offers a bit of Messianic Jewish expression and studies God's Word with a Messianic Jewish perspective. Please check out the upcoming exciting EVENTS, have a look around, and give us your feedback - https://shalompeople.com
Yom Kippur
We are in the middle of the "Ten Days of Awe", which culminates in Yom Kippur - a day of fasting, reflection, and seeking the Lord. Though the Jewish community does it to ensure their names are written in God's Book of Life, we believers in Jesus can give thanks that our names have already been written because of our faith in Yeshua the Messiah!
We encourage everyone to fast, not because of legalism, religiosity, or to earn points for salvation, but because it is good to seek the Lord. When we draw near to God, He draws near to us. Can we fast on any day of the year? Absolutely! And we should fast more often. But why not offer our prayers of thanksgiving and intercession for our families, communities, and our nation on Yom Kippur? Lord knows how much we need to ask God to intervene in the midst of the most tumultuous political conditions we have ever faced in our beautiful nation!
We will break the fast together as a church family at Rosa's Cafe in Hurst on Thursday, September 16 at 7:00 PM.
Weekend Service
Don't miss this weekend service as we gather to worship and hear a powerful message on Yom Kippur, The Day of Atonement, the only day of the year when the high priest would enter the Holy of Holies and offer sacrifices for the entire nation of Israel.

1) Plan to attend this weekend's service
2) Join the Discipleship class next Wednesday - it's phenomenal and we are learning so much!
