The Atlanta City Council's vote on "Cop City" – the derisive name given to a controversial police and fire training facility – has dominated the news for weeks. On Wednesday, after 17 hours of public comment, the council voted to approve the facility despite public opposition.

If you've been eagerly-awaiting the opening of the Atlanta BeltLine Southside Trail, grab your bike or running shoes because the first paved segment is now open.

The Candler Park Music Festival – one of the largest outdoor concert events to be held since the pandemic began – is this weekend. You'll need proof of vaccination or a COVID-19 test for entry.

Tomorrow marks the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. As you pause to reflect, take a moment to
read Toni Morrison's elegiac poem written in the days after the event.
