Our Child Nutrition Department understands the importance of community engagement and student support outside of the cafeteria.
Our Child Nutrition Department understands the importance of community engagement and student support outside of the cafeteria. Therefore, the Child Nutrition leadership team set up a teaching table at the Meet the Hornets event on Aug. 25. Students got to sample menu items and whole-grain snacks while gaining valuable nutrition education information. Through these events, the leadership team records student feedback and community input to help in future menu planning. Have a school-based community event? The Child Nutrition Department would love to participate. Please contact Veronica at veronica.villarreal@ecisd.net or (210) 634-6269.
