  • Phase 5 of Provincial Reopening Plan: The Provincial government has announced that we are moving into Phase 5 of reopening on Wednesday, September 15th. This is wonderful news! What does it mean for us? We don't have all the details worked out yet, and we are awaiting possible directives from the Archdiocese, but there are things we can implement right away:
  1. Preregistration will no longer be required for weekend Masses in Phase 5. So as of Wednesday, you can simply show up to any one of our weekend Masses (including our upcoming closing liturgies at St. Francis of Assisi and St. Elizabeth Seton). There will be no contact tracing, COVID-19 screening questions or gathering limits in Phase 5.
  2. The physical spaces won't look much different next week, or this month. So you can expect things to be laid out and look similar to what you've become accustomed to. We will be implementing a few changes to our physical environment in October and beyond as we move to create a space that is a reflection of our Holy Trinity community including elements from both St. Francis of Assisi and St. Elizabeth Seton.
  3. Masks will still be required when inside the church and during Mass, so that won't change for now.
The parish office is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings if you have questions on any of the information above.
  • New Member of the Staff Team: In August we shared in First 5 that we were seeking to hire a part-time Encounter Coordinator. We're thrilled to share that Tammy McDonald has accepted this position and actually began right after Labour Day. Tammy will be introducing herself briefly at all the Masses this weekend and we are very grateful for her yes and welcome her to our staff team in this new capacity.

  • Council Changes: Please join the Pastoral Council in welcoming Anthony MacNeil and Alex Stapleton to the team. Thank you to those who finished terms over the summer, Urban Cannon and Greg MacIntosh. We invite you to pray for the Pastoral Council as they begin the work of revisiting and prioritizing goals for our next five year plan. The Finance Council would also like to thank David Nicholson who has wrapped up his term on Finance Council as well as his position as chair. We welcome our new chair, Christine Spears. Please pray for all those serving on the parish Finance Council, that they would be guided by the Holy Spirit when making decisions regarding the parish financial resources.

  • August Finances: Our August financial summary has been added to the Give page on our website. Thanks to all who support our parish mission through financial contributions.
Please forward this email to anyone who may not yet be a subscriber and encourage them to visit our website and sign up to receive First 5 in their inbox every two weeks.
