POTENTIAL TRAFFIC IMPACTS RELATED TO CONSTRUCTION 
OF 16@95 IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS 
Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) construction partners will close interstate lanes and ramps at the locations below for the 16@95 Improvement Projects, which will widen I-16 and reconstruct the I-16/I-95 Interchange. The lane and ramp closures are necessary for setting the beams for the new I-16/I-95 Interchange bridges and widening activities for I-16. For daily traffic impacts and real-time traffic alerts, please visit Georgia NaviGAtor at www.511ga.org.

Daytime Closures 

Monday, September 13, 2021, through Friday, September 17, 2021, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Daily)
Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations
  • I-16 westbound from Dean Forest Road (MP 160) to Chatham Parkway (MP 162)
Monday, September 13, 2021, through Friday, September 17, 2021, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Daily)
Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations
  • I-16 eastbound from Chatham Parkway (MP 162) to Dean Forest Road (MP 160) 
Nighttime Closures
 
Monday, September 13, 2021, through Friday, September 17, 2021, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Nightly)
Double lane closures at the following locations
  • I-95 northbound @ I-16 overpass (MP 98 to MP 100)
  • I-95 southbound @ I-16 overpass (MP 101 to MP 98)
Nighttime Closure and Detour 

Tuesday, September 14, 2021, to Saturday, September 18, 2021, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Nightly)
  • I-16 eastbound at the I-16/I-95 Interchange (MP 157):
Motorists traveling on I-16 eastbound should take the I-95 southbound ramp (Exit 157A) exit at SR 204 (Exit 94) turn left off the ramp, then turn left to access I-95 northbound, then take the I-16 eastbound ramp (Exit 99A).
  • I-95 southbound to I-16 eastbound ramp (Exit 99A):
Motorists traveling on I-95 southbound should continue past the I-16/ I-95 Interchange, exit at SR 204 (Exit 94) turn left off the ramp, then turn left to access I-95 northbound, then take the I-16 eastbound ramp (Exit 99A).
ADVISORY: Exact time may change due to weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
