Sandaruwan Subasinghe (PhD communication student) worked with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, River Walker program to educate local and regional anglers about "Eat Safe Fish" programs and fish consumption guidelines in the Detroit River. This internship is integral in keeping local anglers and their families aware of environmental contaminants that may be impacting local fish communities while still highlighting the benefits of eating fish low in contaminants.
Featured Intership: City of Detroit General Services Department/Office of Sustainability

The City of Detroit, General Services and Office of Sustainability manages urban foresty and planting projects throughout the city. Three T-RUST students, Zahra Seblini, Rachel Bush and Jed Jacobson had the privilege of working with them on web messaging, forestry planting and planning. These students are preparing to canvass Detroit neighborhoods for a fall tree re-planting program.

If you or your organization has a project or need for a talented WSU graduate student for a summer 2021 internship, please let us know!
