The National Diaper Need Awareness Week

September 27 – October 3, 2021

It’s a special time as diaper banks like us, along with local and state governments, raises awareness about the issue of diaper need in our local communities.

• 1 in 3 Families do not have sufficient diapers to keep their children clean, dry, and healthy.

• 5 Million children in the U.S. aged three or younger live in poor or low-income families.

• No State or Federal child safety-net program allocates funds specifically for diaper purchases.

• Most childcare centers require parents to provide a day's supply of diapers for their child to attend. Without sufficient diapers, parents are not being able to go to work.

Our GOAL is to raise $8,125 to purchase diapers increase the number of diapers we provide for each child. We are currently serving 650 families each month!

EatLOCO Farmers Market Diaper Drive Campaign

Thank you, Dan Hine, Founder, EatLOCO Farmers Markets! Our sincere gratitude to all of the amazing vendors and generous customers for a successful diaper drive campaign on August 21. Your 2,987 diaper donations and financial support will help replenish the shelves and assist so many families with babies in need! Did you know that the EatLOCO Farmers Markets, located at OneLoudoun and Brambleton are opened year round provided fresh vegetables, fruits, breads, coffees and more! Thanks to all of our volunteer board members who distributed rack cards, including Jerome Schlafer of Samskara Yoga Healing in Sterling, for creating an amazing display table that included colorful diaper drop off boxes to help collect diapers! We are also touched by the generous hearts of another non-profit, Brigade of Mercy, who so graciously donated 2,498 diapers and 30 packages of wipes to help replenish the shelves at The NOVA Diaper Bank. To learn more about their important work, visit: www.BrigadeofMercy.org.

It’s generous individuals like Jodi who amaze us! Her drop-off donation of 565 diapers is greatly appreciated. We also received 777 diapers from another diaper drive campaign organized by Jamie and Kim. Their dedication to the needs of vulnerable babies inspire and motivate all of us to continue our work to help so many struggling families. Thank you, all!
