Dear Members and Friends of Your Shul by the Sea:

Thanks for attending Erev Rosh Hashana, Rosh Hashana Day 1 and Day 2, and shabbat shuvah this past week...it was deep, it was high, it was joyous, it was meaningful, it was digital, it was face-to-face, it was everything.  Here we go into Yom Kippur!

Just a few reminders for now.  Those of you who joined us for our amazing Rosh Hashana Day 1 and 2 already know all this, but just in case, here are the policies and procedures for Kol Nidre, Yom Kippur and onwards thru Sukkot.

  • Based on the NYC policy for restaurants and other gathering places, we ask that all who attend Face to Face Services at Morris YC be vaccinated and wear a mask while indoors.  Morris has plenty of room for us to spread out, and to go outside for breaks.  We will plan accordingly.  We will keep the doors open for fresh air as much as possible  Bring a sweater.

TO REGISTER FOR FACE TO FACE SERVICES please click here and answer all questions.  Please send a copy of your proof of vaccination to yourshulbythesea@gmail.com.

  • This year's machzor, the special prayer book for the High Holidays, will be almost exactly the same as last year.  If you have your machzor from last year, bring it along.  For those staying home on Zoom, and for those at Morris YC, the machzor will also be shown on screen.
  •  All services will be availabe on Zoom, and some are ONLY on Zoom. Please see the schedule at the very end of this email. In order to attend via Zoom, we are collecting your name and email address.  You will receive an email link that will work throughout the High Holidays.  In this way we hope to discourage any security breaches.  It will work quite smoothly if you remember to use the special link.

REGISTER FOR ZOOM and get the special link here.  Note that Zoom says everything starts at 8 AM.  You can ignore that!  Follow the schedule below or on the calendar on the website.
In order to offer you services at the Morris YC and on Zoom, we have incurred many additional expenses, so think about increasing your donation this year. We are paying rent to Morris, bought a video camera, etc.

If you have any questions, please write to us at yourshulbythesea@gmail.com.

  •  We will also be selling delicious, locally-produced artisanal small batch honey for the holidays.  Please place your orders now, at $15 a jar, to sweeten your new year.  Write to yourshulbythesea@gmail.com
  • We will also need help moving out of the Morris on Friday, Sept. 17.  We have a man with a van, but will need some helpers.  Contact Jodie or yourshulbythesea@gmail.com if you can help
  • In prep for move-out, we will try to gather everything together after break fast.  Please stay and help us out.
Wishing you sweetness for the year ahead!
