Greetings, cello friends!
Here's a summary of what you will find in this newsletter - the links in this section will take you straight to that part of the email:
We open September with our Curator's Corner and still have our roundup of weekly news and online concerts and events.
Get a sneak preview of our limited edition celebratory Cello Museum birthday shirts available soon from our Museum Shop.
Inspired by Yo-Yo Ma, artist Nathan Sawaya created his first cello out of approximately 7,000 standard LEGO bricks over the course of a few days in 2009. To see how he dealt with the rather unique challenges, tour our current exhibition, Innovations in Cello-Making Materials.
Our Cello Birthdays series continues, celebrating cellists, composers, luthiers, and others with strong ties to the cello world.
Dr. Leonovich has been extremely busy with a new Servais edition and continuing his Popper research this week.
Finally, please be sure to check the first September note from our curator, Dr. Brenda Neece - she has an important question for you, our readers.
Thank you for reading -- enjoy this week's content!

Our Cello Birthdays series recognizes those who are (or have been) part of the cello world, including cellists, composers of cello music, cello makers, and authors of cello books.
Let us know about any birthdays we should consider adding to our series.
Please keep in mind that we highlight those where we can find media (videos, photos, audio recordings) that we can share online.

September is here! This means it's the first anniversary of our opening in September 2020! Thanks to all of you who have been with us along the way and a big welcome to those who have joined us recently.
To celebrate, this month we’ll have some drawings for prize giveaways and a new, limited-edition design that will only be available through the end of October.
With our first anniversary, we will be making some changes to our content. We value your input. I'd be very grateful if you'd take a quick survey (or email me) to let us know your favorites from the following. I've put links here to help:
Please stay in touch. I always love to hear from you, even if sometimes I get behind on my email correspondence.
