⚜️ FRENCHTOWN & RIVERFEST UPDATE ⚜️
Frenchtown and surrounding areas in Hunterdon County (and neighboring NJ counties + over the bridge in PA) have had a rough 48 hours. The town experienced flooding from rainwater, raging creeks and a rising river. Downtown Frenchtown had power restored Thursday evening, the river crested and much of the water has receded from downtown. We know that for many it is far from over. Folks have experienced loss of life on top of damage and losses to property and homes.
So many are still waiting for power to be restored, pumping out flooded homes and basements, figuring out how to get to work and start the school year.
Local emergency management personnel and OEM, Frenchtown Fire Dept, Frenchtown Police, DPW, Mayor and Council and utility crews have been working around the clock. Residents of Frenchtown, Hunterdon County and all over NJ have stepped up and are helping each other get through this.
With everything that’s going on we think the focus should remain on staying safe, taking care of business, homes, family and regrouping.
Cleaning out and cleaning up.
