Dear brothers and sisters
Christ is among us!
He is and always will be!
Let us pray for all who suffered during hurricane Ida:
O Christ, our Savior and Master, our Refuge: We run to You for protection. Save Your servants from all danger and calamity. Set aside our sinfulness and reveal to us Your mercy. Deliver us from all enemies, both visible and invisible. Preserve us in virtue and health and grant us peace. Amen.

And let us remember all who lost their lives during this time:
O Most Merciful and Eternal Father, it is Your will that all should be saved, for You sent Your Son to the lost, and poured out Your Life-giving Spirit. Have mercy on those who have fallen asleep. Forgive them and save them, receive them into the place of joy and light, and quickly open Your Fatherly arms to them. For You are a merciful God and the Lover of mankind, and we glorify You, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.

We are beginning to read a new book, "
The Religion of the Apostles" by Fr Stephen De Young.
This is one of the best sellers among Orthodox books at the moment. The book "presents the Orthodox Christian Church of today as a continuation of the religious life of the apostles, which in turn was a continuation of the life of the people of God since the beginning of creation."
We meet via Google Meet; therefore, reply to this email to get the meeting link.

Now that I am at the end of my life, I begin to live again and am compelled to learn the graceful versatility of character which is now sought after. But we are late learners, so that we are constantly constrained to blush at our awkwardness and inaptitude for this new study.

“Time Eternal” explores the beautiful and the difficult aspects of time on this earth. The various episodes touch on how our experience and perception of time can become distorted because of sin and brokenness, and how the message of Christ and our Orthodox faith can help restore and resurrect the way we live with time. It is hoped that, in doing so, we can begin to heed St. Paul’s instruction to “redeem the time” (Ephesians 5:16).

The episode I am sharing with you today is titled "Why Time?" The whole podcast is enlightening. Have a listen!
Little Falls is having a town-wide yard sale on September 18, and we plan to have our Sunday School Rummage Sale on that day as well.
We ask everyone to help with the event. The plan is to set up September 11 after the Liturgy. We will also need volunteers for the day of the sale and for the clean up.
A signup sheet is posted in the narthex (vestibule) and an online signup is also available, and we ask you to contribute whatever time you can. We especially need manly men for the setup on Sept. 11.
If you have anything to donate for the garage sale, you can bring it to the Ed Center. Please do not drop anything off at church.
