The Great Bank Holiday Party
Starting in the morning with the Tom Wells Trophy, won by Sue Michelmore in her Laser Radial, and then in the afternoon, over 100 people attended our Bank Holiday Party, and everyone had a great time playing games on the water and the lawn and enjoying the barbeque. Our huge thanks to the Social team and the many volunteers who stepped up to help, and to those who donated their refund to Sailability.
Clearly lots of our members enjoy a barbeque, so did you know that anyone is welcome to light the barbeque and cook up a feast. If you are lucky there will be charcoal in the House Shed.

Quiz Night - Saturday 16th October 7.30pm
At last we are able to plan another of the ever popular quiz nights on Saturday 16th October. For those who have not been before, we have teams of up to eight, but you don't need to be in a ready made team as we can sort all that for you. There is a posh ploughmans supper included in the price of £8 per head, and everyone is guaranteed a good time. For our newer members this is a great way to meet and socialise.
To maintain a bit of distance between the tables, there will be a limit on numbers for this one, so book by clicking the button below, as soon as possible. If you are in a team, please email snowmail@btinternet.com and let us know who is in your team. Guests are welcome for this event.

Tomorrow , 6th September - Last Ladies Sailing for this year
The final Ladies sailing for the year will be on Monday 6th September, from 6pm to dusk, for a friendly, relaxed and testosterone free evening of cruising on our beautiful lake. This will be our 6th session of 2021 and perfect conditions are guaranteed!! All Ladies, of any age are welcome. As the nights are drawing in, we will gather for some social chat in the bar afterwards and some hot food may be available, whether cooked on the BBQ or inside, depending on the conditions. We are able to offer taster sails for those who would like to try sailing or are nervous of going afloat alone. To arrange a taster sail, or if you need to know anything else, contact Jackie on jackiebonella@aol.com PS How about a Ladies Sailing Quiz Team?
Re: Ladies Sailing from the Committee
Jackie has done a wonderful job over the past few years, and Ladies Sailing has never been better attended. Due to work commitments Jackie is looking for someone to take over the reins. Usually only 4/5 Mondays in the summer the job is not onerous, so if you think you might enjoy encouraging our lady sailors, contact Jackie on the email above and she can fill you in.
Sad News
It with great sadness that we announce the death of Nigel Mills.
One of the founder members of the Scow fleet, Nigel was more recently our bar manager, and almost single-handedly refurbished the bar during lockdown. As well as being a keen supporter of quiz nights, Nigel was always ready to step in if a safety boat needed a driver, or help out with tasks around the clubhouse, as well attending the Work Parties.
Altogether one of the nicest and most helpful people you could wish to meet, he will be sorely missed by his friends, and the wider club.

Due to popular demand, Tuesday morning Launch and Lunch will be continued on the following dates:
September 7th (not 14th) 21st and 28th
October 5th and 12th
Come along and enjoy a tranquil time on the water when the club is a bit quieter - open to all members.
RS Aero and RS200 open meeting - Sunday 26th September
Limited space for cruising on the lake on that date.

The club has a number of Whatsapp groups which anyone can join, for various interests in the club
We have:
Ladies that Launch - for our adult ladies; Solo group, Scow group; Laser group, and the general purpose Cruising group for members to chat, arrange to sail etc. This one great for new members.
Click on any of the buttons below, from your mobile and you will be automatically joined to the group. You can join a class group even if you do not own a boat of that class but would like to find out more, or arrange a taster sail. You can belong to any or all of the groups.
