Keeping up optimism despite a loss
Editor's Letter
This past Saturday saw the return of FAU Football where the Owls traveled to Gainesville to face the Florida Gators. The game itself did not go well for the Owls, losing in a tough 35-14 matchup. The Owls may have lost the game, yet they showed flashes of what could prove to be a successful season primarily in the fourth quarter. Despite FAU losing, I’m confident in stating that to hear the roar of the crowd at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, aka “The Swamp”, was absolutely an unforgettable experience for both myself, the players, and everyone who was there to witness the game in person.
It was a cool and breezy night in Gainesville; it was more reminiscent of a late fall game rather than the opening game in September. Simply being under the lights in the midst of 86,000 people made me forget, for a brief moment, all the craziness that the past year and a half has brought upon us all. Last Saturday also reminded me how much not just myself, but quite a large group of people, have missed the opportunity to attend large-scale events in person. Hopefully, these opportunities will remain and things will push closer towards a newer, and better, normal.
