For young people beginning their employment journey, it can be scary and overwhelming. The feeling of not knowing where to start can sometimes wreak havoc with motivation.
Whether they are about to go for their first or second job, an internship or an apprenticeship, these workshops are designed to help young people discover skills that are transferable into different professional environments.
This workshop is designed to enhance a young person's employability and set them on a pathway to career success. Young people ages 15 to 25 who live, work, study and recreate in Hobsons Bay are invites to join this three-week program.
What participants will learn about:
- transferable skills
- technical skills
- what employers are looking for
- ways to discover your strengths and weakness
- understanding your values and how these can guide your career direction
- what the STAR method is
- how to create an effective resume with the do’s and don't's outlined for you
The sessions are lead by a Careers Councillor who is there to answer their career questions, ensuring young people get the most out of their experience.
