Living in Love and Faith
Living in Love and Faith is a CofE initiative to encourage engagement across the whole church with Christian teaching about identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage.
This teaching and learning is primarily through a five-session course for small groups. The Diocese of Derby is committed to participating in LLF and will be holding in-person and online courses across the diocese to help people to explore the material.

A prayer for Living in Love and Faith.
Please use this prayer in your gatherings and consider setting aside time
on the last Friday of each month to pray for LLF.
God, whose name is Love,
Whose gift is life,
Whose word holds all in being;
Bless Living in Love and Faith to your church
As we seek to grow together
Into the truth of our humanity and longings,
Into communities where all find welcome,
Into the fullness that is your image in us;
Through the Word made flesh,
Our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen

Everyday Faith - Dom
In our latest video, Dominic, a student in Chesterfield, talks about connecting with God and how it helps him get things off his chest and not feel alone.
#EverydayFaith encourages us to explore what it means to be a Christian every day of the week – not just for a short time when we are in church on Sundays. People from across the Diocese of Derby are recording their chats and sharing them with us.

Discipleship Training
www.discipleship-training.org
'Transformational', 'very accessible and varied content', 'excellent and well presented', 'packed full of information', 'has helped me to gain confidence', 'very interesting and inspiring', 'has really opened up my eyes'.
These comments are from our current students about our Discipleship Training modules. Why not join them on a module or a programme next term?
Applications are open for our winter term (starting January 2022). The sessions are accessed online and modules are designed to help you grow your faith and develop the ministry to which God has called you (we are all called to ministry of some kind!).
There are no entry requirements, just a desire to grow in faith and some time to study and reflect. The January 2022 modules are:
Everyday Faith
How God is calling you to live out your life of faith in the church and the world.
Mission and Evangelism
How we discern what God is doing in the world and how we get involved,
as a church and as individuals.

Safeguarding Training
A new national CofE Learning and Development Framework was released in May 2021 and requires full implementation in every diocese by January 2022.
The Diocesan Safeguarding Team have worked to ensure that we are fully prepared for the changes this will bring, including revisions to who should attend which training, and new versions of Domestic Abuse and Safer Recruitment training. All of this goes alongside the rolling programme offering training at Leadership level, induction for Parish Safeguarding Officers (PSO), and development of new training for specific groups and activities.
Basic and Foundation Training
This is currently delivered online as a national e-learning package. For non-computer users, we will be providing very limited spaces on 'in-person' courses - please email Judie.fogarty@derby.anglican.org for more details.
Leadership, PSO Induction, Safer Recruitment,
and Domestic Abuse
All courses are taking place in the autumn, and are now open for booking. These are required courses for some people and roles, but open to anyone. Best practice is that as many people as possible attend safeguarding training and get a wider understanding of the issues.
Training Matrix
The new version of the Training Matrix, which explains who is required to do which training, is now available on the diocesan website. If a course is fully booked, check back regularly as spaces become available and more dates are added.
