SEPTEMBER 2021 PFANJ
STATE MEETING RESCHEDULED
TO MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH &
IMPORTANT LABOR RIGHTS RALLY
IN NEWARK ON SEPTEMBER 8
Brothers & Sisters -

The September 2021 PFANJ State Meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 8, 2021 has been rescheduled to Monday, September 20, 2021. The meeting times and location will remain the same, with the general meeting scheduled to begin at 11am on the 20th at the Middlesex County Fire Academy, 1001 Fire Academy Drive, Sayreville, NJ 08872.

The September meeting is an extremely important one as all endorsements for the New Jersey Legislature for the 2021 Election will be discussed and made.  We ask all Locals to make an effort to attend. As always, all PFANJ members in good standing are welcome and encouraged to attend.

The reason for the change in meeting date is due to a critical labor rights and public safety rally happening in Newark on September 8, 2021 at 11am (the date and time of the original meeting). The PFANJ encourages all available Locals and members to attend the rally and support Newark Fire Officers IAFF Local 1860. Full information about the rally and issues in Newark follow in this email.

The weather events that effected much of the state and region were extreme and unprecedented. Our members should be incredibly proud of the efforts put forth to save countless lives and meet the needs of our communities when they needed us the most.

  • Federal vaccine mandates provide adequate testing protocols and safeguards frontline workers and the community we protect.
  • Governor Murphy’s vaccine mandate provides adequate testing protocols and safeguards frontline workers and the community we protect.
  • Mayor Baraka’s mandate ignores common sense mandates, ignores your rights, ignores public safety and ignores Newark Firefighters and Police Officers.
  • Newark Firefighters and Police Officers are not against the vaccine, we are not anti-vaxers... we are against heavy-handed politicians making ill-advised, headline grabbing decisions today that threatens to terminate Newark Firefighters and Police Officers and impact public safety long into the future.
  • Mayor Baraka has been court ordered to meet with us, yet he refuses. Newark Firefighters and Police Officers deserve a voice in public safety!
