Welcome to Oh Scrap! from Diane Harris at Stash Bandit:
Curated tips and tricks for better scrappy quilts!
Wasabi Stars is a scrap quilt with a limited palette.
A scrap quilt does not have to include
every color under the sun!
You can make an amazing scrap quilt with just a few colors. Wasabi Stars is made in light neutrals, hot pink, lime green and navy blue. It's a good example of limiting the palette and still sewing from your stash and your scrap bin.
Spinster, designed and made by Diane Harris
Spinster is another example. I used soft pastels for the background plus lots of teal and aqua prints with pink and red prints.
Fun fact: There is only one patch size in this quilt!
Here's a closer look at the background fabrics used in Spinster.
You can even make a scrap quilt with just one color. Scarlet Spin, below, features reds plus white and pale gray. A one-color quilt is the easiest scrap quilt to make, I think, especially if you choose an easy color like red.

Here are some ideas for limited palettes you could try:
Red, navy blue and gold
Blue and green
Purple and gold
Orange and yellow
Play in your scraps or your stash and see what happens!
I'm booking 2022 and 2023 now and most engagements will be virtual. I'd love to visit your quilt group via Zoom! Consider booking a virtual trunk show and class: Avoid winter travel disruptions and save the guild hundreds on expenses.
