The Board of Trustees and library staff would like to thank the Friends of Valley of the Tetons library for their support. With funds raised this year through the Tin Cup Challenge, used book sales, and grants, the Friends helped to expand the Makerspace, purchase shelving and furniture, increase the library's digital collection, fund teen programming, and so much more. We appreciate their considerable commitment to the library.

The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel

Emily St. John Mandel takes readers through often hidden landscapes: campgrounds for the near-homeless, service in luxury hotels, and life in a federal prison. The Glass Hotel  is a captivating portrait of greed and guilt, love and delusion, ghosts and unintended consequences, and the infinite ways we search for meaning in our lives. ~from the publisher

Shibori in the Makerspace Lab

The Friends have donated both time and effort to make the Makerspace Lab a reality. The library's vision for the Makerspace Lab is a place for all ages to make everything from slime to papier-mâché, to cooking classes and entrepreneurship, self driven activities where we offer materials and ideas but the real happenings are made by you.

In September, the Lab held its inaugural event for adults: Shibori Fabric Dyeing. Participants crafted dyed scarves, napkins, sheets, skirts, ties, flags, masks, shirts, and bags. It was a fun afternoon of art making with laughter, camaraderie, and curiosity as each person unveiled their Shibori fabric.

Swing by and check out the finished space and stay tuned for the next special activity.
