Let us support those who are facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic

Currently, the Covid-19 disease is rapidly spreading throughout the country. People living in several areas have been affected due to this pandemic in various ways. Some have been hospitalized for medical treatment. And some have been instructed to be in self-quarantine in their respective residences.

Islamic teachings on social life guides us to maintain close ties with the society and encourages us to engage in social welfare efforts and to identify and help those in need in the society. Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “He who meets the need of a brother, Allah would meet big needs, and he who relieved a Muslim from hardship Allah would relieve him from the hardships to which he would be put on the Day of Resurrection.” (Sahih Muslim)

The ACJU kindly appeals to generously support those who are in need, due to this critical situation, in possible means.

It is noteworthy that in the past, many well-wishers extended their valuable assistance through Divisional Relief Coordinating Centers (DRCC) which were functioning under the guidance of the ACJU Divisional Branches, through Masjids based relief efforts and through individual means. The ACJU urges to resume these noble efforts and especially to support those who have been afflicted with this disease and are in dire need.

The ACJU also urges the ACJU Divisional Branches, Masjid Federations and well-wishers to initiate necessary efforts to arrange PCR and Antigen Tests for those who bear symptoms of Covid-19, with the collaboration of respective local medical professionals.

Due to the increase of those infected with this virus, we kindly requests the public to collaborate with the local Health authorities and identify and propose suitable locations to setup temporary Covid-19 treatment centers within their respective areas.

Furthermore, those who do not have sufficient space at their residences in order to stay in self quarantine and may risk exposure of the infection to the other family members, require to be supported. Such persons should be identified and appropriate arrangements should be made with the consultation of the local Health authorities.

It has been reported that many Ustads, Imams, Muazzins and Staff members of Arabic Colleges and Masjids have not received their monthly remuneration. ACJU appeals those responsible to attend this matter positively and to arrange the respective payments urgently. Furthermore, the ACJU kindly requests the employers to remunerate their respective employees, timely and appropriately.

May Almighty Allah accept all our efforts. May He Bless our lives and have Mercy upon us in both Worlds!
