Community School’s Quarantine Guidelines
As we watch the schools all around us have to quarantine students, I know that we may face a similar situation. While our staff is fully vaccinated, the majority of our students are not eligible at this point. We encourage everyone that is eligible to take advantage of the vaccinations for their family and their children 12 and over. Below, I’ve outlined Community School’s Quarantine Guidelines for the vaccinated and unvaccinated.
Anyone who is fully vaccinated:
-
Does NOT have to quarantine if they are in close contact with a positive case of COVID-19 and can return to school.
-
Should continue to wear a mask, adhere to social distance protocols, and monitor for symptoms.
-
Should consider getting tested 3-5 days after exposure. If they test positive, they will need to isolate for 10 days (from date of symptom onset or date of test-first day is considered day 0) and may return if symptoms have improved and they have been fever-free without medication for 48 hours.
Unvaccinated students:
Community School’s guidelines follow a stricter interpretation of the VDH and CDC guidelines for schools since we do not want to rush students back and have to extend quarantines with new cases. Please monitor our COVID Updates page for the most up-to-date information on our COVID policies.
