ASHLEY MONROE AND TYLER CAIN UNLEASH NEW EP
THE COVERS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – GRAMMY®-nominated songstress Ashley Monroe unearths and subtly rearranges five of some of the most recognizable songs of all-time with producer Tyler Cain on their new EP, The Covers, available everywhere today. Monroe and Cain’s collaborative project began before she was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer, and the pair finished the project just as Monroe started chemo treatment earlier this year. The Covers captures Monroe and Cain performing live in the studio with delicate acoustic and stripped-down arrangements, along with featured artists Ruston Kelly on “Love Hurts” and Brittney Spencer on “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You.”

"This project began out of a shared love for these songs. There’s just something magical about taking classic songs that we’ve listened to for most of our lives and stripping them down to just vocals and a guitar," Cain shared. "Tyler and I were just hanging at his studio and talking about our favorite songs and I said we should just film ourselves recording some of our favorite songs on Earth. The ones that make us FEEL better. Maybe it will help other people too, Tyler knows me and exactly the way I create and envision songs. It just seemed natural to collaborate on something that is so personal and raw in a way," Monroe said.

ABOUT ASHLEY MONROE:
Born in Knoxville, TN, Monroe first began turning heads in Nashville as a teenager, when she arrived in town with a notebook full of mature, emotionally sophisticated songs that belied her young age. A jack-of-all-trades, she picked up work behind the scenes at first, singing on sessions at Jack White’s Third Man Studios and penning tunes that would appear on albums by the likes of Guy Clark, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, and Miranda Lambert. Monroe and Lambert forged a close personal bond through their collaborations, and in 2011, they teamed up with fellow Nashville journeywoman Angaleena Presley to launch the critically acclaimed trio Pistol Annies, which would go on to top the Country Album charts, crack the Top 5 on the Billboard 200, and earn a GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album. Monroe’s solo output was equally lauded, with NPR hailing her work as “subtle and breathtaking” and Rolling Stone praising her writing as “riveting [and] sharp-witted.” Over the course of three studio albums, Monroe would land her own GRAMMY nomination for Best Country Album, share bills with the likes of Vince Gill and John Prine, and perform everywhere from The Tonight Show and Conan to Late Night and The View.

ABOUT TYLER CAIN:
Nashville based artist and producer Tyler Cain has built a substantial catalogue, including working on collaborations with GRAMMY nominee Aloe Blacc, Darius Rucker, Shaggy, and more, producing and writing several songs in the Top 5 of the iTunes charts and working with hit artists including Big & Rich, Billy Currington, Colbie Caillat and others. With a unique Nashville songwriting sensibility and years of touring venues around the world, Cain's musical backdrop has been woven together by an incongruous thread of prestige and blue collar. As an artist, Tyler’s acoustic single “Suitcase Heart”, co-written with Tiffany Goss and Ashley Campbell (the late Glen Campbell’s daughter), has amassed 5 million Spotify streams to date. To follow it up, Cain released the music video for his song “Back to Me” that recently made its debut on CMT Television.
