2021 Virtual Gymnastics BC AGM

Mark your calendars! The 2021 Gymnastics BC AGM will take place virtually on:

Sunday, October 24 at 11:00 a.m. PST.

Detailed information will be distributed via e-mail, and posted on the event webpage soon.

Welcome Momona Komagata and Thorstein Fischer to the GymBC Team!

We are excited to announce that Momona Komagata and Thorstein Fischer have joined the GymBC team as the new WAG and MAG Coordinators respectively.  Please join us in wishing them a warm welcome! 
 

About Momona:

Momona's gymnastics journey started many years ago as a gymnast in Quebec.  

Fast forward to today - Momona is now a National HP Judge. One of her most memorable experiences judging was at the 2019 Canada Winter Games. 

Momona looks forward to helping the organization achieve its strategic goals, and supporting the development of beautiful and safe gymnastics in BC. 

Something you might not know about Momona: She is an open water scuba diver, and is heavily involved in the film industry (she's even brought a film to the Cannes Film Festival!).

About Thorstein: 

Thorstein's involvement in gymnastics has seen him evolve from athlete, to coach, to judge. 

In 2017, he earned the title of International Brevet Judge. 

Thorstein is keen to collaborate with the MAG community to continue the development of positive programming. He looks forward to taking the program out of the pandemic and into a successful future. 

On the weekend, you can find Thorstein getting some fresh air and putting some miles on his bike!

2021 World Challenge Cup

A huge congratulations to Zachary Clay and coach Richard Ikeda, for a strong showing at the 2021 World Challenge Cup in Koper, Slovenia. 

After a tie-breaker for 3rd in the Pommel Horse Finals, Zach ended up in 4th place. An impressive feat after a two-year hiatus from International competition! 

They are now enroute to the World Challenge Cup in Mersin, Turkey.

The WAG BC Development and Xcel Program Manual has been updated.

The manual is available for download HERE. 

Reminder: TG Coaches and Judges Retreat - Whistler 2021

The deadline to register for the TG Coaches and Judges Retreat is tomorrow! 

The retreat will be hosted in beautiful Whistler on October 15 - 16, 2021.
