A Summer of Stewardship Success

The Crested Butte Land Trust is dedicated to serving our community through conservation and stewardship of local open spaces and conserved lands. For all of us, summer is a particularly busy season. It can feel so short yet so sweet, and we can’t believe we are starting to see hints of fall already! This summer, with help from dedicated donors, the Western Colorado Conservation Corps, Mountain Roots, and tireless volunteers and supporters, the CBLT stewardship team and river stewards have cared for local conserved lands with numbers through the roof. It is all thanks to you that we can accomplish so much. Despite those leaves changing, CBLT will still be out there continuing to steward and protect beloved landscapes. Here’s what you have made possible so far:

- 1,600 pounds of food harvested at Glacier Farm
- 2,189 recreationalists educated
- 150 acres of weeds sprayed
- 23 contractor bags of pulled weeds
- 1,000 yards of abandoned barbed wire removed
- 150 abandoned T posts removed
- 2,500 pounds of trash removed
- 5,032 acres of conserved land monitored

CBLT is looking forward to a productive fall, and we are so grateful for all of your help in making our summer of stewardship a success!

CBLT Field Trips

Mark your calendars for the last field trip of the season on Thursday, September 30 at Gunsight Bridge. Throughout the summer, CBLT staff and supporters have been visiting various locations with partner organizations to learn about the different ways conserved lands serve our community. Join us along with Stanford and RMBL scientist Dr. John Bargar to learn about the research being done out at the Gunsight floodplain.

Contact Jess at jessica@cblandtrust.org to reserve your spot today.
