Community Requires YOU!This church NEEDS YOU to form a more complete foundation in Christ’s loving community. Our personal families are a definite priority, AND so is our faith family. This month we are focusing efforts to re-engage building community through our table groups. These small groups form Christ-centered community with consistent engagement and thoughtful conversation. That’s all Spirit needs to work toward bonding us in faith and strengthening our sense of belonging to a purpose larger than ourselves. Small group settings are often where we best show up in one another’s lives. This is what our table groups are all about, building trust and authenticity that lead to transformation one conversation at a time. We need YOU to be involved for table groups to be effective. If you’re interested in joining a table group this fall (and haven’t yet reached out) please fill out our invite online using this link.
And if you’re interested in learning more about HOSTING a table group, join Pastor Emily and family for a backyard picnic this Sunday at 5:30pm. Email Pastor Emily for details. |

Song of the MonthYour music and worship committee meets regularly to discern creative and faithful ways of engaging us all in worship. This past Sunday we decided to share a bit of history along with each song of the month. If you have a song you’d like for us to highlight in the future as the song of the month, please let Larry Lyngstad, Gloria Merriam, Jack Horner, or Pastor Emily know! |

September’s song of the month is Thy Word. Written by Amy Grant in 1984, Thy Word formed during a recording season Amy Grant shared alongside Michael W. Smith in the Rocky Mountains. The melody originated with Smith, and the refrain is based on Psalm 119. One evening as Grant made her way back from the recording studio to her cabin, she lost her way. Alone and unsure of her path, Grant began praying. Eventually, a small beam of light emerged, the lantern shining from her cabin window. As she made her way back from the woods that night, Thy Word emerged as one of Grant’s most enduring worship anthems. Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path When I feel afraid; Think I've lost my way; Still you're there right beside me And nothing will I fear; As long as you are near; Please be near me to the end
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path I will not forget; Your love for me and yet; My heart forever is wandering Jesus be my guide; And hold me to your side; I will love you to the end
Nothing will I fear as long as you are near; Please be near me to the end Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path And a light unto my path; You're the light unto my path |

The Apostle Paul says, I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor. -1 Corinthians 3: 6-8 |
