It’s finally here! HVRA is pleased to announce a scaled back but very enjoyable Fall Event in lieu of our usual Fall Fair. It is sponsored in part by the Harbord Street BIA.
We have arranged for live music in a number of laneways, front porches and other outdoor venues throughout the afternoon. Performances will follow all public health guidelines, including distancing and masking. Acts include classical, pop, folk, rock, country, and more! Times and venues have been posted to the
HVRA website.
(Please note that details may change and we will try to keep the site updated - you are encouraged to double check before heading out.)
St Stephen’s will be providing free creative activities for kids in Margaret Fairley Park that can be enjoyed in appropriately spaced family groups. You can enjoy free tasty treats outside Knox Presbyterian Church and Harbord Bakery! And of course you are encouraged to eat and shop at our many wonderful Harbord Village businesses!
We look forward to celebrating Harbord Village with you!

Call for Nominations for HVRA Community Builder Awards
Twice a year, HVRA solicits nominations for Community Builder Awards, which are presented at the Spring Meeting in May and the AGM in October. If you know someone who in your opinion has made Harbord Village a better place to live, then please put that person’s name forward. Just write a short paragraph on why you think this person is worthy of the award.
There are numerous ways that a person makes a neighbourhood better: they might keep a beautiful garden or spend time helping another neighbour in need; perhaps they have volunteered on community projects, or been responsive in some other way to the needs of the community. Your nominee could be a resident or a business operator or a person who has some other attachment to HV. We’re sure you know someone who has done something that makes life in HV better!
To nominate someone for an award, please send the nominee’s name and contact information with a one-paragraph summary of their accomplishments to
chair@harbordvillage.com by
Monday, September 27. To read about some of our past recipients visit our
website.
CafeTO Public Survey
CaféTO is supporting nearly 1,200 restaurants this season with expanded outdoor dining space in curb lanes and on sidewalks. A
new survey has been launched, which will help the City to better support recovery of the restaurant industry, enhance understanding of the appropriate use of public sidewalks and curb lanes, and identify the effects of expanded patios on private properties. The survey is currently live and will be open until
September 19, 2021.
All local restaurant operators, CaféTO diners and members of the public are encouraged to complete the survey to help us shape the City's outdoor dining programs and the future of Toronto's streets. The results of the survey will be used to guide the future of CaféTO and outdoor dining.
Toronto For All: Undocumented Residents Campaign
Undocumented residents make important contributions to the economic and cultural fabric of our city, with many experiencing tremendous hardships while living in fear due to their lack of immigration status. The City of Toronto has launched the latest
Toronto for All campaign focused on support for undocumented residents. For this campaign, the City has partnered with FCJ Refugee Centre, and other key agencies, to reduce discrimination by sharing the realities of undocumented life in Toronto. The campaign runs until September 21. Find out more about what you can do to make Toronto more inclusive of undocumented residents
