IT'S TOMORROW!!!

Aaargh! One day to go! We're so looking forward to all MicroBurners old and new 😍😍😍

The Build Crew have been on site since Monday, prepping the beautiful corner of Wales that will become MicroBurn 2021 so it will be all ready for you to bring the magic!

Read on for important last minute info and reminders!

SURVIVING AND THRIVING AT MICROBURN

If you haven't read the Survival Guide yet, now is definitely the time! This has all you need to know about MicroBurn and you can download your very own copy.

Also, a note from Welfare: Bring things to stay warm! Extra socks, jumpers, gloves, blankets, hot water bottles will help make the evenings and nights that bit more enjoyable.

If there's anything you need to know, connect in the Facebook MicroBurn Community or email team@microburn.org

HAPPY LANDINGS: ARRIVAL

Gates will be open from 2pm on Thursday 9th September! If you're likely to arrive super late, please contact gate@microburn.org.

In order to get a coveted wristband to access the site, please have ready:
  • your membership (either already downloaded, or printed off - there is very little signal on the site)
  • parking / live-in vehicle pass (if purchased)
  • ID (matching name on membership)
  • proof of a negative LFT result: the email / SMS confirmation as registered on the NHS website is preferred, or the physical test in a plastic bag (please take this off-site with you and dispose of personally) You will not be allowed on site without proof of a negative LFT.
Please, please, please:
The following participants must not attend MicroBurn for any of the following reasons:
  1. any person who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the previous 10 days,
  2. any person who has had close contact in the previous 10 days with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19,
  3. any person experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19;
Refunds will be provided in these cases if you are unable to transfer to another participant.

CONSENT!

A reminder about being mindful when interacting with others, whether it be having a chat or something more intimate - consent should always be a part of your thought process when you engage with someone.

We need to be even more aware that actions previously commonplace may be less welcome by some in COVID times... Try to stay at least 1m away from others until you have consent to get closer, especially when not completely outdoors. Wearing a facemask may indicate someone wants to keep a distance from others and wants limited or no physical contact. Look out for signs and signals for non-consent like “No Hugs Please” badges or stickers. Someone wearing headphones may not wish to be disturbed...

Being mindful of others will help everyone to have a wonderful MicroBurn :)

MICROBAR

The bar is entirely dependent on YOUR donations. So, bring us your booze (& mixers too)! Lager, cider, beer, wine, spirits - if you want to drink it and share it - bring it along. And soft drinks, juices, mixers too!

We also need a few more willing volunteers - if your dream job is serving intoxicating drinks to intoxicated hippies, then the fabulous MicroBar needs YOU! Sign up for a shift now!

MEMBERSHIP TRANSFERS

As there are more posts popping up on selling / buying memberships, here is a quick guide on how to transfer your membership:

1. Go to www.quicket.com & login
2. Go to 'My Tickets'
3. Use 'Edit Details' to update the name/email etc on any tickets you want to transfer << Important Step!
4. Use 'Transfer Tickets' to transfer ownership of ticket to new person.
5. Confirm transfer, press 'TRANSFER'.

Boom! Congrats, you have transferred your ticket(s) 😃

By updating the details on the ticket this helps us to ensure that we have correct name on our list at Gate for arrivals, and also it makes it easier to select which ticket(s) to transfer if you have multiple tickets.

VOLUNTEER SHIFTS STILL AVAILABLE!

Come get involved - Microburn is made by YOU - and volunteers are still needed... No-one is a spectator, everyone participates! Please sign up to at least one shift, the lists will still be open to join in on the Gate and during the event too.

Welfare in particular is still looking for folk. You don't need any experience - just the ability to stay unspangled for a few hours, be kind and considerate, and the not entirely necessary capacity to place some hot water in a mug on top of a sack of tea leaves.

If you have any questions (or sign-up requests for some of the areas), contact deets are on the sign up sheet or contact volunteer@microburn.org for general questions.

LEAVE NO TRACE / STRIKE

A crucial part of MicroBurn is leaving the site in the same state (if not better) than we found it. Throughout the event we rely on everyone to do their part to leave no trace, including:
  • not bringing moopy things on-site in the first place (like feathery things and definitely NO GLITTER!)
  • signing up for a de-mooping LNT shift
  • putting abandoned items in, and retrieivng items from, the Lost and Found box (which will be by the bus)
and last but not least... helping with STRIKE! A few hours from everyone before leaving will make a huge difference. A small number of people are also needed on Tuesday morning to help load the van which will take stuff back to storage. If you are able to stay Monday night, please come find Tara on site (a Ranger or Site Lead should be able to point you at the right person)

Looking forward to seeing your lovely faces tomorrow 😍🌈
