A huge welcome to Fr Maria who has joined us here in the St Barnabas area! Fr Maria is originally from India and this is his first appointment within the Diocese of Northampton.

RCIA PROGRAMME 2021 - 2022
It is with absolute delight, that we are able to announce that the next RCIA Programme will begin on Tuesday 28th September at 7 pm at St Augustine's!

The RCIA Programme is for those people who are interested in becoming Catholic, or for those adults who have not celebrated the Sacraments of Holy Communion or Confirmation.

For more details, simply click on the link below!

I'd love to know more!
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND CONFIRMATION
Many parishioners have been enquiring about the First Holy Communion and Confirmation Programmes! Please do not worry - they haven't started yet!

It is hoped that over the next few weeks, application forms will be available and more details about dates and times will be forthcoming!
OPEN HOUSE
Each Monday between 5.30 pm and 7 pm we have an Open House at St Augustine’s Church in Heelands. It is a chance to meet with one of the priests or deacons to book baptisms, complete marriage paperwork, sign school application forms, or any other practical things you would like to have a word about. There is no need to make an appointment, just come along!
"I WAS A STRANGER AND YOU WELCOMED ME!"
Many of us will have been saddened and appalled by the scenes of people fleeing Afghanistan over the last few weeks!

In response to this, we in the St Barnabas Cluster have been able to offer hospitality and support alongside the local authorities and other Christian denominations for a number of people who are in need of a caring and loving welcome!

Please continue to pray for the people of Afghanistan, and all those who have been forced to leave their homes!

Depaul UK is part of Depaul International – parent of the worldwide family of charities that works with people who are homeless. Click on the link above to know more.

This work is inspired by the values of Saint Vincent de Paul (1581-1660), a major social reformer in 17th century France. Saint Vincent de Paul reached out to the poor and the disenfranchised, valuing each and every person.

He attracted a large group of supporters and volunteers, whom he inspired with his love for the poor, building bridges between rich people and those living in poverty. Vincent de Paul devoted his life to helping the poor, sick and needy, and was canonised in 1737. He is often referred to as “the Saint of Charity”.

DePaul UK have been commissioned to offer two of their prevention services here in Milton Keynes, Reconnect and Nightstop – so that no young person will have to experience hidden homelessness or rough sleeping. Click above to find out more.

Betty Thompson, Majorie Nagle and Kevin Moran whose Funerals take place on 23rd September.
Also Magdelena Picincu whose Funeral will take place on 29th September.
"Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord, and let perpetual light come upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen"

DONATION OPPORTUNITIES!
Most of us carry very little cash around with us these days and we are used to paying for things with a credit or debit card. More recent, technology has allowed us to simply tap our, card, phone or even watch on a card reader to pay for goods up to £45. At a few of our parishes we are trialing a similar method for contributing to the weekly collection. You will find a reader, and someone to help, in the foyer as you enter and leave the church. Why not give it a go!
CORNERSTONE CAFÉ
The Cafe at Christ the Cornerstone is open 8.30 am – 3.00 pm Monday– Friday, serving hot and cold drinks, freshly made sandwiches, toasties, paninis, home-made cakes and scones, hot snacks, soup made in the kitchen, and specialities like omelettes and crêpes.
If you are in or around the city centre during the week, do drop in for a drink or a snack. Meet up with friends for a chat over a cup of coffee.
