Events and Programs

The Gallery Concert Series

The Polk Museum of Art and Lakeland Symphony Orchestra present the Gallery Concert Series, a special set of ensemble performances, live in our galleries and inspired by our upcoming partner exhibition, Pictures at an Exhibition.

Pictures at an Exhibition pairs artwork from the Museum’s permanent collection with hand-picked musical selections performed by the musicians themselves for a unique multi-sensory viewing and listening experience.

The Gallery Concert Series consists of four concerts, starting October 14! To purchase your individual Gallery Concert tickets, click the button below. If you would like to purchase all four concert tickets, please contact the Lakeland Symphony Orchestra at 863.688.3743.

Member Exclusive: Virtual in Conversation

with the Lakeland Symphony Orchestra

Thursday, September 16 via Zoom

6 pm - 7 pm

This Fall, the Polk Museum of Art launches its first collaborative exhibition with the Lakeland Symphony Orchestra (LSO). Entitled Pictures at an Exhibition, the show presents art and music pairings, both hand-selected by LSO instrumentalists, along with newly recorded performances by the same musicians who chose them.

In this Member-Exclusive interactive conversation and Q&A, join Dr. Alex Rich, Executive Director of the Museum, as he takes your questions and chats with Amy Wiggins, Executive Director of LSO, and LSO musicians about how music connects with art, about famous links between music and art, about the new exhibition and how LSO members selected the works they did, about the Russian inspiration for the show, and so much more. Like music to your ears, you won't want to miss this LIVE discussion.
