The Drs. Rosalee G. and Raymond A. Weiss Research and Program Innovation Grants
Applications due September 15th

 
The APF Drs. Rosalee G. and Raymond A. Weiss Research and Program Innovation Grants seek to seed innovation through supporting research, education, and intervention projects and programs that use psychology to solve social problems in the following priority areas:
  • applying psychology to at-risk, vulnerable populations (e.g. serious mental illness, returning military, those who are incarcerated or economically disadvantaged)
  • preventing violence
  • understanding the connection between behavior and health (e.g. wellness, diabetes, obesity)
  • understanding and eliminating stigma and prejudice (e.g. race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, and socioeconomic status)

Facebook Fellowship
Applications Due September 22nd


The Facebook Fellowship Program is designed to encourage and support promising doctoral students who are engaged in innovative and relevant research in areas related to computer science and engineering. Winners of the Fellowship are entitled to receive two years of tuition and fees paid, a stipend of $37,000 each year, and up to $5,000 in conference travel support. The Fellowship Program is open to PhD students globally who are enrolled in an accredited university in any country. Fellowships are available to those studying natural language processing, machine learning, spoken language processing, and more.

Canadian Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships
Due September 22nd


The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program provides funding to the very best postdoctoral applicants, both nationally and internationally, who will positively contribute to the country's economic, social, and research-based growth.

The objective of the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program is to:
  • attract and retain top-tier postdoctoral talent, both nationally and internationally
  • develop their leadership potential
  • position them for success as research leaders of tomorrow
Value & duration
  • $70,000 per year (taxable)
  • 2 years (non-renewable)

Syngenta Fellowship Award in Human Health Applications of New Technologies
Due October 9th


The Syngenta Fellowship Award in Human Health Applications of New Technologies is presented to either a third year (or later) graduate student or a postdoctoral trainee. Fellowship funding is to support mode-of-action research aimed at characterizing dose-dependent effects of xenobiotics on mammalian systems in such a way that the causal sequence of key events underlying toxicity is elucidated. The work should permit a quantitative basis for extrapolation of the results from animal bioassays or animal models (in silico, in vitro) to humans at relevant human doses. The awardee will receive travel support to travel to the Society of Toxicology Annual Meeting to accept the award and for travel to a Syngenta facility to present the results. This is a one year, non-renewable award.

The award consists of a plaque, $15,000 in fellowship funds, travel support to the SOT Annual Meeting to accept the award, and travel support to a Syngenta site to present the results.
 

NIDA Substance Use/Substance Use Disorder Dissertation Research Award (R36)
Due October 16th


The NIDA R36 Dissertation Research Award supports doctoral candidates from a variety of academic disciplines for up to two years for the completion of the doctoral dissertation research project. This program will ultimately facilitate the entry of promising new investigators into the field of substance use/substance use disorder research and promote transdisciplinary collaborations.
 

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (GRFP)
Applications Due October 18th


The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students who are pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees in fields within NSF’s mission. The GRFP provides three years of support for the graduate education of individuals who have demonstrated their potential for significant achievements in science, social sciences and engineering research. Check the website for up-to-date deadline information.

NRC Research Associateship Program
Applications Due November 1st


The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine administers competitive postdoctoral awards on behalf of US federal research agencies and affiliated institutions with facilities at over 100 locations throughout the US and abroad. Prospective applicants select a research project or projects from the list of Research Opportunities and reach out the the Research Advisor listed to assure funding will be available if you are selected.

Award: $45,000 to $80,000

American Association of University Women Fellowship Applications Due in November

For women who are US citizens or permanent residents in their final year of writing the dissertation. Award Amount: $20,000
 
For women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are pursuing full-time study or research in the United States. Award amount: $20,000
