Sara Anderson is an associate to the bishop of the New England Synod of the ELCA. She is a religious studies graduate of Stonehill College in Easton, MA, studied at Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, and earned her M.Div. at Yale Divinity School. In addition to providing oversight for churches in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and the metro Boston area, Sara provides leadership for the Forward Leadership Community, a collaborative initiative for congregations ready to engage in transformational ministry and connect more deeply with their communities. She also helps provide welcome and support for the synod’s new pastors.
Jim Kitchens is co-founder and principal of PneuMatrix, a consulting group that helps churches and judicators engage adaptive challenges. A native of Mississippi, he received a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Mississippi and an M.Div. from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley. Ordained by San Francisco Presbytery in 1979, he served churches in northern California and Tennessee before starting his consulting practice. He is the author of The Postmodern Parish published by the Alban Institute and is the coordinator of CHC-West.
Michelle Snyder, MDiv, LCSW, has been doing organizational consulting for over 10 years. She earned her undergraduate degree from Malone University in Canton, OH, her MSW from the University of Pittsburgh, and her M.Div. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. With training in theology, systems theory, and organizational intelligence, she brings a unique perspective to her consulting and coaching work with middle judicatories, congregations, nonprofits, and clergy. Michelle has co-authored the book Life, Death and Reinvention: The Gift of the Impossibly Messed-Up Life. Michelle does suicide prevention training for faith community leaders, is a consultant with CHC, and serves as an associate with PneuMatrix.
