CASE Junior Ocean School - Ocean Exploration for Young Adventurers

The ocean sustains all life on Earth. The air, climate, water, and food. The population will grow to over 10 billion within the next 30 years; we need to explore and understand the Earth’s most valuable asset. CASE Junior Ocean School supports and extends students’ scientific understanding of the ocean in a fun and immersive program, rich in practical experiences.
  • Snorkel Fitzroy Island and visit the turtle rehab centre.
  • Explore coral reefs, intertidal zones, and mangrove ecosystems, observing marine life in their own environments.
  • Discover the secrets of Moreton Bay with high-tech underwater cameras.

Fun and immersive marine science experiences

Ecosystems


Snorkel the Great Barrier Reef with a marine biologist; cruise on a research boat observing marine ecosystems through microscopes; learn field work techniques as you collect samples from various marine habitats. Completely immerse in the different ecosystems connecting land and ocean.

Biodiversity


Use a range of technologies in the water and at top facilities to observe marine life. Work like a marine biologist to identify, classify and collect data. Uncover the incredible diversity of the ocean, from plankton - the smallest micro-organisms, to whales - the largest mammals on Earth. 

Human Impacts


Experiment with cells and DNA in an academic marine research lab to investigate human impacts on ocean health. Discover the positive impacts humans can make and be inspired by people who have created this change.
