Lolita fashion is a Japanese alternative fashion style that is based on Victorian children’s clothing and all things cute. It’s Victorian clothing taken to the absolute extreme of ruffles and matching and theme. Sailor Lolita is a subgenre of this particular style and one of my favorites that I explored in this printable paper doll.

Tropical patterns seem to be here and they don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. I actually had a lot of fun expanding my Jewels and Gemstones 1.0 version mini-dresses with some more pieces to fill out a tropical pattern fun wardrobe. I also had more fun than I should maybe admit designing Pearl’s swimsuit.

Ramblings From Rachel

Hey Y'all,

Up here in the Northland where I live, the days are rapidly getting shorter. While I realize it was just the official start of autumn, I'm already bundled up and wearing my favorite knit hat (thanks mom) while I take my daily walks. Something about the weather change makes me happy to settle into things and spend 6 hours looking for reference images on 14th century women's belts and other sorts of long term research projects.

I hope everyone is staying warm out there and if it is still warm where you are, I hope it is what you prefer. For all my grumbling about winter, I actually really love that time of the year. The cold, the silence, the crisp air makes me very happy.

- Rachel

P.S. I was going to do a paper doll round up on the blog of paper dolls in coats, but I then realized, I've already done it! Check out Last Years Paper Dolls In Coats Collection for your cute coats for paper dolls needs!

The Newsletter Paper Doll

The name Robin began as a Medieval English diminutive of Robert, but now I think it is a more common lady's name than a man's name. Also, the bird is pretty.
This week's skirt was certainly inspired by the complicated patterns I've been exlploring lately. I go through phases where I love pattern (and phases where I don't.)
