Please read before service

DURING OUR ZOOM SERVICES:

During the gathering prior to the start of the worship service, please be invited to greet each other freely, UNMUTED.

Once the service starts and the prelude begins, we ask everyone to please kindly MUTE yourself, as we are not able to do this remotely.

During the service itself, if you are a Worship Leader, or if you speak during Children’s Time or Joys and Concerns, please UNMUTE to speak and MUTE afterwards.

We ask that everyone help in this way so that all may enjoy an undisrupted service.

After the Postlude, all are welcome to UNMUTE and speak with each other again.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing everyone!

Call to Worship
            Rev. Young Choi
One:   Gracious is the Lord, and righteous;
All:     our God is full of compassion.
One:   Let us walk in the presence of the Lord in the land of the living,
All:     through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.

*Opening Hymn    “O Worship the King”   UMH # 73   (vs 1,2,&5)

Opening Prayer         Maggie Price
It says in the Bible, O God, that you created the world through your Word. Your Word is powerful! And so are our words. They can heal, create a smile, be a declaration of love; but they can also hurt and destroy a sense of self-worth. Give us your wisdom, God of the Word, so that as a church and as individuals, we use our words to build up and not to destroy. In the name of Jesus we pray.   Amen.

Hymn of Lord Response      “Precious, Take My Hand”    UMH # 474

Prayer of Confession
Holy God, in the face of sin, our gravest enemy, we call to you for help. You know our fault before we speak. Forgive us for what we have done in opposition to your will. Forgive us for those things we have not undertaken and for which we know our wrong. We have not loved you and our neighbors as we ought. We have denied our dependence on you. Lead us away from this grief and sorrow. Save us so that we may fulfill our vows to you and attend to the needs of your people. In Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Silent Confession

Declaration of Forgiveness
One:    God, who is gracious and merciful, knows the human desire to save our lives by avoiding Jesus’ call to carry the cross. God, who is full of compassion, also knows that those who repent have set their minds and hearts on what endures for all time. Your sin is forgiven you. The Lord God is a very present help to those who seek to follow in the way of divine things.
All:     Go with God in joy as you take up your cross, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
