Lion's Pride Annual Campaign

Will You Go All In for All of Us?

Donate Today!

Funds raised during the Lion’s Pride Annual Campaign go directly to supporting our School’s needs in areas of curriculum development, technology, and teacher training. It is these educational “extras” that make E. Rivers a top 10 APS elementary school.

The Lion’s Pride Annual Campaign is our school’s largest fundraiser in support of the E. Rivers Educational Foundation (EREF). Every dollar EREF spends for educational resources and teacher training allows the administration to allocate the school’s general fund for personnel, including teaching and support staff, and as a result, keeps our class sizes low. Here are just some of the items donors, like you, have helped fund:

  • Teacher stipends of at least $300 for curriculum enhancements and classroom
materials (and our new teachers received more!)
  • Support for Eureka Math, Lucy Calkins Reading and Writing Curriculum, Orton Gillingham and Foreign Language Curriculum
  • Student binders, Friday folders and Air Purifiers for every class
  • Materials for the Media Center including Spanish language books for our library
  • Support for the IB curriculum, teacher training and endorsements (ESOL, Gifted)
  • Supplies and equipment for Specials: Art, Music, World Language and PE
  • Ongoing support for technology repairs and maintenance; replacement of APS and E. Rivers issued devices and accessories, like headphones

Every gift makes a difference. To learn more, please visit the E. Rivers Educational Foundation (EREF) and Lion’s Pride Campaign websites. Or, contact the Lion’s Pride team at lionspride@eriversfoundation.org.

District Attendance Policy

As you are aware, your child's attendance is extremely important in ensuring your child gets the content that they need to be successful. Please see the district's attendance protocols for UNEXCUSED absences:

When students are absent, parents are expected to notify their child’s teacher explaining the nature of the absence and the expected duration. Upon returning to school, a written excuse must be sent to the front office. The student handbook outlines the district protocol and outlines which absences are considered excused.

Attendance letters will be mailed weekly to parents of children who have unexcused absences; beginning at the 3rd unexcused absence and subsequently the 5th & 10th unexcused absence. At the 8th unexcused absence, teachers will submit a referral to the school social worker. The school social worker will make contact with parents to explore any barriers and offer support. If there are no improvements, a referral to the Division of Family and Children Services (DFACS) and /or probate court may be submitted. We encourage parents to schedule vacations during school breaks. If a student is absent due to family trips that occur outside of the school break schedule, the absences are considered unexcused. We encourage all parents to refer to the student handbook for guidance on attendance which can be found here.
--------------------
