I Believe! Help My Unbelief

Grace to you and Peace in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Sometimes we have to admit that even though we have belief in God, sometimes there is that little doubt of unbelief.  It leaves us to ask the question, We say we believe that God can transform things, but do we really believe that God can heal us from COVID, do we really believe that God can eliminate racism, do we really believe that God can unify us as God's people? We have to admit that we are faithful, but our society has told us not to believe, so we struggle with our belief.

However, our story this morning of the man who came to Jesus to heal his son who had been possessed shows us what it is like to want to believe, but have society show us the reasons for unbelief.  But what this man did was bring his son to Jesus.  He believed, but he asked Jesus to help his unbelief.  This is what we must do as well.  We must turn to God, because we believe, but we ask God to help our unbelief.  We must spend time in prayer with God.   Because in Jesus is healing, in Jesus is transformation, in Jesus is the presence of God's righteousness.

Hold to God's hand, because we believe, but Lord help my unbelief.

Peace and Blessings,

Pastor Rachel B. Livingston
