Good luck to Lesley on her retirement
Late last month, our long-serving Hub Advocate Lesley Trickett retired from her role. Lesley had worked with the AIM team for over five years, working as part of Advonet's First Contact Team and as a Parents Advocate with Leeds Advocacy before then.
Throughout her time with the AIM team, Lesley supported many people with advocacy issues, particularly around appealing benefits decisions. She was a big part of our service and will be sadly missed. Best of luck in your retirement, Lesley!
Employment and wellbeing support from Specialist Autism Services
Specialist Autism Services (SAS) are offering support around employment and wellbeing for autistic adults in Leeds and Bradford. Their Employment Hub covers steps toward getting into work, exploring employability and social skills.
SAS' health and wellbeing service is a six-month programme which includes building confidence and social skills, building links in the community and activities like cooking, exercise and art. To get more information, email their Employment team at employment@specialistautismservices.org.
Autism Health Access Project:
Open for Referrals
The Autism Health Access Project involves AIM working with the Light Surgery and Leeds Student Medical Practice's Local Care Partnership to help autistic people living near both surgeries to access healthcare services. It offers one-to-one peer support and can help you to give feedback on the surgeries' work and meet one-to-one to help communicate your healthcare needs.
If you are an autistic adult and are either registered with one of the surgeries or live nearby and want support from it, please fill in the referral form by clicking the button below.

AIM's quarterly feedback survey
Starting this month, we will be running feedback surveys every three months for anyone who has received support from Leeds Autism AIM. They are short, asking just a few questions on what service(s) you have accessed, what worked well and what can be improved.
If you would like to give feedback between now and the end of September, please click on the button below.
