Webinar: Maternity Incentive Scheme – Yr 4 (CNST) – safety action 2: submitting maternity MSDS data.
23rd September 13:00 – 14:00

A webinar to give guidance and support for the successful completion for safety action 2 is planned for Thursday 23rd September, 13:00 to 14:00 for an audience including digital midwives, MSDS data submitters, Regional Chief Midwives and HOMs and DOMs 
The webinar will give an introduction to safety action 2 and outline key available national resources such as:

  • Scorecard
  • Data Quality Submission Tool
  • Technical Guidance Videos
  • Drop In sessions
  • On-line resources

Presenters from NHSE&I, NHSD and NHSX will be available to answer any queries or questions that you may have.
The webinar will be hosted as a teams event. Please email england.maternitytransformation@nhs.net  to receive an invite and a link for the event.
 



Regional Maternity Reporting Tool and reports
A reporting tool and a suite of regional reports are hosted on the MTP Collaboration hub with a video walkthrough to show how you can best use the reporting tool. The reports are presented as:

  • National and regional view of the Tier 1 (Outcome) and Tier 2 (Intervention) measures as presented to the MTP Board
  • Regional and STP views of specific groups of measures for the CNO and regional CNO's
  • Regional reports containing operational / quality measures as requested by the regions
  • Regional reporting tool - Yorkshire and Humber version
  • Regional reporting tool - North East version

New VCSE role: Maternity Consortium Engagement Lead
Tommy’s and Sands are new members of the national VCSE Health and Wellbeing Alliance leading a Maternity Consortium that includes National Maternity Voices (NMV), the Pregnancy and Baby Charities Network (PBCN) and a number of community organisations.  They are appointing a Maternity Consortium Engagement Lead – more information is available here: Maternity Consortium Engagement Lead
 



Managing Adverse Events
Susanna Stanford and Sarah Seddon share a positive message about managing adverse events in healthcare in this short YouTube film following their personal experiences of maternity care. It’s a valuable insight into managing your response to adverse incidents as a clinician as well as supporting women and families, but a difficult watch in places.

  • Kirsty Kitchen, Birth Companions, about co-production with seldom heard groups in North Central London LMS; and
  • Wendy Olayiwola BEM, National Maternity Lead for Equality, and Misha Moore, National Speciality Advisor for Obstetrics, about implementing the Workforce Race Equality Scheme

  • how together we can make maternity care safer
  • sharing case studies and patient stories from across their investigations

Maternal Mental Health Services – implementation event
Wednesday 29 September 2021, 13:00 - 16:00
The national perinatal mental health team will be hosting an event for those involved in the design and delivery of MMHS, in Early Implementer sites, Fast Follower sites, and beyond! Hear the latest programme updates and learn from what sites have been doing. We will also discuss next steps and how to prepare for transformation funding shifting to CCG baseline funding from 2022/23.
