Hi everyone,

Happy September!

I hope that you managed to have some time off over the summer despite the not-so-brilliant weather. We enjoyed two weeks of camping in Kent and Norfolk and managed to get back in one piece! I was just grateful to have a break, even if we weren’t always able to fully relax with four active kids!

As we move into a new term, there is a lot to update you on. I’ve recorded this week’s video outside the Lee site. Although it’s slightly longer than usual, please do have a watch, as I include some important bits of news.
I hope that some of what I shared was like music to your ears. It would be great to see many of you at the Lee site from this Sunday onwards as we continue the process of regathering and rebuilding.

At the risk of repeating myself, I thought I’d summarise what I said in the video:

  1. One Service – We will be returning to one 10.30am service at the Lee Site from Sunday 19th September.

  2. You don’t need to book – From this Sunday, 5th September, you will no longer have to book, so you can simply turn up on a Sunday. Masks will still need to be worn.

  3. The return of full children’s and youth work – From Sunday 3rd October we are planning towards having full children’s and youth work every Sunday, so that parents can simply be in the main service. As we begin, with limited teams, please do bear with us, as we may experience one or two teething problems.
In case you missed it... In Steve's blog this week, an update on in-person services.
Read more here.
  • Sunday 5th September – The Varleys' last Sunday

This will include refreshments and cakes after the 11.30am service. Let’s give them a fitting send off.

  • Saturday 11th September – Thanksgiving Service for Iris Gooding, 2.45pm at the Lee Site. All are welcome.

  • Sunday 12th September – Dedications at 9.30 & 11.30am services.

  • Sunday 19th September – Baptisms at 10.30am. On this Sunday we change to one service.
Prayer meetings will also reconvene at some point in the next few weeks. Watch this space for more details.

And finally...

I am really excited about all that God will do this term. I look forward to gathering and seeing you all soon as we celebrate new life over the coming weeks and begin our new series Rebuild & Rejoice out of the book of Nehemiah in a few weeks’ time.

Well, that’s all from me. Have a great weekend.

Andy
