Resources for the Recovery Community

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has a Rental Assistance Finder  to connect renters and landlords to state and local organizations distributing federal rental assistance. This tool can help renters and landlords to avoid eviction and navigate financial hardships related to the pandemic.

How To Start A Recovery Community Organization (RCO) In 5 Steps

1. Establish the core group and leadership or champions for your cause

2. Determine mission, vision, and purpose, and establish working infrastructure

3. Recruit and engage others, and pick one early project to focus on (and do it well!)

4. Plan and implement manageable projects and align with your strengths

5. Market and promote your organization, and be aware of new opportunities within the community that arise!
