Another month has flown by!!! Wow! We are so excited as we are getting ready to go to language school. We continue to assist our home church with things like Keith teaching a men’s bible study, and Jenny helping to plan and prepare different events at the church. Jenny has also been busy with unpacking and repacking our things. She is deciding what we will bring with us to language school and what will stay behind until we get back. The excitement is building as we are preparing for the NEXT STEP>>> language school.
 We decided to take a week, this month, and get some rest before heading out to study for eight months. We visited our supporting church in Berlin, Maryland, and connected with some of the members there, that we had met earlier this year. It was a wonderful time getting to know them better. We are thankful for John and Ann who gave up their home for us the week we were there. It was a tremendous blessing to be there. Such an inviting and warm environment in which for us to relax. Keith was able to help with a vinyl floor installation and had a great opportunity to spend time getting to know one of the church members. We had an opportunity to participate in a backyard VBS at John and Chelsea’s house. It was so fun! Something Jenny missed  being a part of back home. We had a 2-day VBS planned at our home church but had to cancel because not enough children signed up. Jenny enjoyed time connecting with Shannon and Sandy who had words of wisdom for her as she is dealing with the anxiety of leaving family. We toured a replica of the Santa Maria while in town. Of course, we had to hit the beach and also play dominoes with some great friends.
As we were getting ready to head home Bianca messaged, she wasn’t feeling good. Jenny stayed in close contact with her to try and help Bianca via phone and nurse her back to health. We found out a day or so later she tested Positive for COVID. But God… while we were traveling home, our home church Pastor’s wife, Amy, reached out and said she would help with Bianca while we were traveling with anything she needed. This made Jenny’s heart happy. Our oldest son, Jonathan, and his girlfriend Kayla also tested positive for COVID. When we got back it was homemade chicken soup for everyone! They’re all on the mend, and so far our grandsons have not gotten the virus. Bianca and Kayla went and got Monoclonal Antibody treatment. This entailed 4 injections of antibodies to help them recover faster from COVID. They have both reported feeling better in days instead of weeks. When we returned home, Jenny got the opportunity to make, what her family calls, “Pigs in a Blanket.” It consists of rice, hamburger, and tomato sauce wrapped in a boiled cabbage leaf then baked together with more tomato sauce. They were yummy!

One more blessing!
But God… We just received word that a partner gave us a gift for $5000. WOW! Praise the Lord for his faithfulness and for his people who were faithful to follow his leading and give this gift. We thank our GOD!
Our departure date for Language School is October 21st. We can’t wait! We have begun to organize our belongings and started to pack for language school. Pray for us as we have booked our flight, that the challenges in the world do not hinder us in travel.
