Student OneCards
All students should have received their OneCards this Week. The OneCard should be worn and visible each day. All students must scan in at a OneCard Station during morning arrival. OneCard Stations are located at 3 points, the gymnasium, Old Science, and between Old Cafe and the Main building. Students who do not have a OneCard will report to a specified scan station to receive a nametag to be worn for the day.
Important Reminders:
- The OneCard must be worn on a breakaway lanyard hanging from their neck.
- OneCards cannot be worn on a shirtsleeve, pants, outside of pockets, under a coat/jacket, or at the bottom of a shirt.
- If a student is wearing a jacket, the OneCard must be on the outside of the jacket and visible.
- The OneCard must be presented to any school staff member or a person of authority when seeking student identification.
- The front and back of the OneCard must remain plain and free of stickers, markings, other photos, etc.
- Lost, stolen, altered, damaged, and defaced OneCards must be replaced IMMEDIATELY through the designated administrator (Mr. Ingram).
- Cost for replacement is $5.00 for a new ID Card.
Underclassman Picture Day – Tuesday, 9/7
Come to school “dressed to impress” on Tuesday, September 7th, for Underclassman Picture Day. All students will have their picture made during their English classes. Order forms have been sent home with students. Packages can also be purchased online through mylifetouch.com. Our picture day code is: EVTJDW8QN
Underclassman Makeups will be on October 22nd.
Walk the Schedule & PTSA Meeting
Parents are invited to come to campus on September 9th from 5:30–7pm to walk their student’s schedule and meet their teachers.
5:30-5:45 - PTSA Meeting in the Auditorium
5:45-5:50 - Report to 1st Period
5:50-6:00 - 1st Period
6:05-6:15 - 2nd Period
6:20-6:30 - 3rd Period
6:35-6:45 - 4th Period
6:50-7:00 - 5th Period
7:05-7:15 - 6th Period
7:20-7:30 - Zero Period
7:30 – Walk the Schedule Night Ends
*Student schedules will be available for pick up in the Main Hallway outside of the auditorium and Grove at 5:15.
National Art Honor Society
Create art, create friendships, and create a difference in our community! The National Art Honor Society / Art club meeting will be held in Mr. Mac's art room (Room 601 in the Old Cafe) Wednesday September 8th at 4:20 pm. Everyone is welcome!

Applications are available for the Tri-M Music Honor Society in room 714 Music.

Student Council Elections
Calling all leaders! If you wish to run for a position in this year’s Student Council, please pick up an application in the main office or download an application from the Student Council Webpage. Applications are due to the main office or to Ms. Way by September 7th! We will vote for this year’s student council in homeroom on September 17th.
Transportation
The GCS Transportation Department is making every effort to accommodate the large volume of transportation requests they have received since the July deadline. If your child was assigned to a bus route but does not ride the bus for 10 consecutive days, he or she will be removed from the bus route so that another student can be added. If your child is removed from the route and bus transportation is needed, you must reapply by submitting an online transportation preference form, which can be found at http://www.gcsnc.com/transportation.
Grimsley Playmasters
The Grimsley Playmasters will be holding auditions for Frozen Jr. on September 7th and 10th from 5:30 until 7:00pm in the Grimsley Auditorium. If you’re interested in trying out for the play, please go to GrimsleyTheatre.com to sign up and get your necessary audition materials.
Ultimate (Frisbee)
Ultimate (Frisbee) will be meeting after school on Fridays on the practice track field. Please see Mr. SanGeorge in room 408 Old Science for information.
Miles for Matthew 5k

November 9th - Senior Supply Orders during lunch for students and in the evening for parents.

January 26th - Panoramic picture to be taken during homeroom in the Gym.
Week of February 7th - Cap and Gown pictures will be taken in the Auxiliary Gym during English Classes.
March 1st - ACT testing day for Juniors. This is another great day for a college visit.
