Community Development Department Update
September 2021

Greetings from the La Plata County Planning Department! Below you will find a news update on the projects, plans and processes afoot in our department, at the Planning Commission, Board of County Commissioners and more. Thank you for your interest in La Plata County!
Here's what you'll find in this issue:

Recognizing Senior Planner Robert Bowie

After twenty-three years serving the citizens of La Plata County, Robert Bowie has announced his departure from the Planning Department. His last day will be September 15th. Robert was a cornerstone of the Department for the last two decades, known for his vast knowledge of the historical background of county land use planning that appropriately engendered his nickname, “The Oracle.”  Robert’s professionalism and wisdom will be greatly missed by all of his colleagues. We want to thank him for his dedication of service and wish him the best in his next chapter in life.
