The Golf Society

Saturday saw the finale of this years Golf Society take place in Hollywood Lakes.  It was a thoroughly enjoyable day like all the outings that came before it.  A burger and a beer was welcomed with open arms by all at the 9th hole with a prize giving also taking place back in the Courtyard in Fins.  The final results were: 1st Seán Hickey, 2nd Danny Lynch, 3rd Barry Rodgers.  Longest Drive - Daithí Crowley, Closest to pin - Paul Tyrell and Golfer of the year - Barry Rodgers.
The 9th Hole

With the Golf Society's season coming to an end we would like to thank everyone who participated over the course of the summer as with you it would not have been such a success.  Roll on next year !!!!

Dinny O'Brien
It was with great sadness that we learned of the death of Dinny O'Brien.  A Tipperary native who came to Dublin, Dinny was a regular and most welcome visitor to Fingallians where he was very popular company for all who met him. When asked once why he always sat next to the Gents he said "it was a great way to make sure to have a chat with everyone". Dinny was proud of and never forgot his native Tipperary roots but also had great time for all his friends in the club where he was held in great esteem. To all the O'Brien family we extend our sincere sympathies. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dilis.
