Special Advisory: RHRA launches 2022 Fee Consultation

Today, RHRA is commencing public consultation on proposed annual fees for licensees that would take effect on January 4, 2022.

Please note that RHRA is proposing a fee increase in 2022. The experience of residents and families during the COVID-19 pandemic has shown us that RHRA must adapt its operations to be able to continue to protect residents’ safety and well-being.

The activities needed to do this have increased significantly during the pandemic and are not expected to return to pre-pandemic levels.

Retirement home residents are entitled by law to be safe in their home. In response to the needs of residents, increasing requests and expectations of residents, RHRA must have the ability to oversee the protections to which residents are entitled.

Consultation materials and instructions are available
here on the RHRA website. The consultation closes on Thursday September 30. RHRA will carefully consider all comments and advice and provide the sector with as much notice as possible before implementing any changes. Stakeholders are encouraged to provide comments via the RHRA website so that your opinions are documented. RHRA sincerely thanks you in advance for your contributions.
