You are welcome to join us at any time during the meeting.

We hope that you will be able to settle in with a tea or coffee to join us online.

There also will be a 10-minute comfort/refreshment break part-way through the meeting.

Please find attached the full Agenda for this meeting, along with the Draft Minutes and Brian Dear's Safeguarding Report from the last Sutton Carers Forum, held on Tuesday 8th June 2021; we have also included the 'Caring Matters' national updates from Carers Trust, for August and September 2021.

For the first part of the Sutton Carers Forum, we will be joined by Shona Harris, Commissioning Lead - Health, Prevention and Wellbeing (London Borough of Sutton) who will be reporting back on the outcomes of the 'Making Informed Choices' review and what this means for Young and Adult Carers in Sutton.

Shona will focus on how the Council will be re-commissioning support services as well as information and advice for Carers and their family and friends.

Shona will touch on the new Information and Advice Hub being developed by the Council, too, and will give an update on the Multi-agency Delivery Group (MADG) for Carers and related LBS/CCG Strategy.

We will also welcome Shona's colleague Alex Towers who will outline his new responsibilities and how they relate to Carers.

There will then be an update from Brian Dear on the work of the Sutton Safeguarding Adults Board (SSAB) and what this means for Carers. Please bring any comments or questions!

For the second part, we will offer a warm welcome to Steve Triner, Chief Executive Officer (Citizens Advice Sutton) who will be speaking about the latest 'key changes' to welfare rights/benefits and income maximisation more generally. This will include 20 minutes for questions so please bring anything you think could benefit from his expert input!

We will then move on to any hot and simmering Carer topics, giving a chance for Carers to highlight any other current issues of interest to them and other Carers. It is also an opportunity for partner groups and agencies to do quick updates on current initiatives and other items of interest to Carers. Rachael MacLeod, CEO at Sutton Carers Centre, will have updates on the future of the Forum, feedback from Carers Week and Sutton's Pledges, and the latest on Booster vaccinations and other winter support. And Claire Thrower, Communications and Engagement Manager from LBS, will also be explaining the 'Stronger Sutton' survey and giving information on how you can share your views.

ANOTHER PACKED AGENDA!

If you are unable to make the Forum, then please feel free to pass on any questions or updates to Vicky (details below) or Chiara at communications@suttoncarerscentre.org and we would be happy to circulate them.

We will have the 'chat' function available, too, so you can post any questions you wish to ask the speakers, for during or after the meeting.

We are very much looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday 21st September 2021 for Sutton Carers Forum!
