Survey 12 was released on August 24, 2021. It includes new questions on topics such as returning to school and returning to work in person.

You can find our survey here: iCAREstudy.com
Thanks to your support, the iCARE survey is now at more than 99 000
responses from 190 countries. Can you help us reach our goal of 100 000 responses?
COLLABORATOR MEETING
The iCARE team will be hosting a fifth collaborator meeting on October 7, 2021 . As usual, in order to accommodate as many collaborators as possible across different time zones, we will have two meetings. The two meetings will be
1) Thursday October 7, 2021 9.00-10.30 am (EST - Montreal, Canada)
or
2) Thursday October 7, 2021 at 5.00-6.30 pm [17.00-18.30] (EST - Montreal, Canada)

OPEN INVITATION
Drs. Stojanovic, Lavoie, and Bacon are guest editors in the Open Access Journal "Vaccines" for a Special Issue on COVID-19 Vaccination: Considerations for Public Health and Policy. Original research articles and different types of evidence-summaries are welcome. Research areas may include (but not limited to) the following:
  1. COVID-19 vaccine acceptance, hesitancy, and refusal, including assessments of the evolving epidemiology and understating of individual, group–level and context-specific determinants of these phenomena.
  2. Monitoring and continued development of COVID-19 vaccines, including efficacy and effectiveness of vaccines in the context of emerging variants, safety, booster doses, mixing and matching vaccines.
  3. Public health and policy issues, including vaccine deployment, ensuring equitable access, communication strategies for encouraging vaccine uptake and introduction of vaccine passports.
The deadline is August 31, 2022. They look forward to receiving your contributions!

ANALYSIS REQUESTS
NEW! The Data Management committee has developed the iCARE Analysis Request Form in order to provide analytical support to interested collaborators. You can find an example of how to correctly fill out this form on our OSF.
DATA REQUESTS
Our team has developed a data access protocol for interested iCARE collaborators. Below is a short summary of the steps and approximate timelines.
We have created data dictionaries for all convenience and Canadian representative samples to help you navigate through these datasets. You can find them here.
*Steps 3 & 4 can be done simultaneously
iCARE REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLES
In parallel with recruiting our global convenience sample, the iCARE team has coordinated representative sampling efforts in the UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Italy, Israel, France, and Colombia. We are now preparing to launch representative sampling in the US.

CANADIAN LONGITUDINAL STUDY
Since January, Canadian respondents to the iCARE survey are redirected to participate in a longitudinal version of the study led by Drs. Bacon and Lavoie. We are currently at more than 900 responses.
VIEW SUMMARY OF RESULTS
We have recently updated our results' page to include surveys 9 and 10. Below is an example of our findings:
COLLABORATOR RESEARCH SUB-GROUPS
iCARE collaborators are actively working in research sub-groups on the following topics:
  • Going back-to-school during COVID-19
  • Pregnancy during COVID-19
  • COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy
  • Chronic disease
There are several research topics of shared interest between iCARE collaborators. This file lists current and potential subgroups organized around specific topics. If you are interested in leading a sub-group, please contact us. You can also view on-going projects by browsing our iCARE analysis plan (iSAP) log.
INVESTIGATOR IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Dr. Joshua Rash is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN), and registered clinical, health and rehabilitation psychologist in the province of NL. As Director of the MUN Behavioural Medicine Centre, Josh seeks to: 1) understand how biopsychosocial factors influence the development and progression of health and disease (e.g., cardiovascular disease, pain, cancer); and 2) design and implement behavioural interventions that are aimed at improving the lives of individuals living with chronic illness. He is currently leading a CIHR-funded pan-Canadian clinical trial evaluating the effect of oxytocin for the management of chronic pain among adults who experience diverse chronic pain presentations. Josh is also the lead investigator of a CIHR-funded pragmatic trial evaluating the implementation of a stepped care model in the delivery of mental healthcare across three Atlantic Canadian provinces. In the iCARE study, he is enthusiastic to provide insights into the adoption and maintenance of health behaviours, including adherence to COVID-19 safety precautions; improving vaccination intentions and uptake; understanding the differential impact that COVID has placed on people living with multimorbidity; and delineating effective strategies to motivate individuals to follow public-health guidance. In other pandemic-related work, Josh is preparing a manuscript that reports on the results of an experimental investigation into the impact of sensationalist news stories about COVID vaccinations on vaccine hesitancy.
It is the responsibility of all collaborators to familiarize themselves
with this page as a condition of collaboration.
