Today is BANDCAMP FRIDAY! This means every purchase made on the platform goes to me directly rather than being sucked dry by greedy music executives. So I'm finally, and very belatedly, releasing my tiny range of merch based on the Tonight was not the one design. I don't expect to make billions in profit with this but hoping they'll become collectors' items over the next decades :p
As I'm writing this, Joe Nevis of Nevis Audio is mixing and mastering a cheeky track I composed in January called J'veux des frissons. I was given a french poem to put to song. The result was a very atmospheric, dark and moody dance track and I'm looking forward to hearing what he cooks up for me.
Smelling my pits during my first gig back with Frank the Cat at the Hampton Hub Club. Glad to say my new deodorant passed with flying colours.
Le Futur
MY FIRST EVER SOLO GIG AS AN ORIGINAL ARTISTE is happening on Tuesday 12 October 2021, at the Bread and Roses in Clapham. Please do RSVP to the Facebook event if you can come as I'd love to know in advance how nervous I should be to perform in front of people who know me haha. My gig is one of many that form part of the Women do South Festival organised by Scotty Rockstar Presents, with support from the Arts Council. My two colleagues for the night are Barbs Dudek and Cholly. It's going to be a good one!
At the end of the month, I'll be officially enrolled in Tileyard's Songwriting and Commercial Music Production MA. I cannot bloody wait to make new friends, learn EVERYTHING, sing, songwrite, party and make King's Cross mine!
